March 28, 2018 Share: Facebook LinkedIn Twitter Girls and boys will be going to the ballpark to cheer on the Kansas City Royals this season as part of the Kauffman Foundation’s Royals Ticket Giveaway. The annual civic program provides blocks of tickets to eligible youth-serving nonprofit organizations in Kansas City. During this year’s 10th annual Royals Ticket Giveaway, the Foundation provided 4,000 complimentary tickets to the Royals home games so that young fans who might not otherwise have the chance to attend a ballgame can be in the stands at Kauffman Stadium. In addition to receiving tickets, the group heard from Darwin Pennye, executive director of the Kansas City Urban Youth Academy. The Royals Ticket Giveaway tradition recalls the legacy of Ewing Kauffman, who established the Kansas City Royals and was committed to making sure fans could see their hometown team take the field. Since introducing the program, the Kauffman Foundation has provided 40,000 tickets, more than enough to fill Kauffman Stadium.
