Amy Unruh Senior Communications Manager Amy Unruh is a senior communications manager in Strategic Communications for the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation. She is responsible for leading communication projects that help strengthen educators and key city assets administrators, as well as grow and engage communities and audiences. Prior to joining the Kauffman Foundation, Unruh served as senior director of administrative communications for the University of Arkansas where she supported executive communications and developed strategy to enhance internal communications. Previously she worked in the university’s Graduate School and International Education, leading the unit’s crisis communications through the first two years of the COVID pandemic. She also engaged with students through her role as an adjunct instructor in Media Writing at the university’s School of Journalism and Strategic Media. Unruh has experience as a content specialist, wire service reporter, and event planner. Unruh is a member of the Lemke Journalism Alumni Society board and has been active in supporting high school extracurricular activities. She also served as a volunteer for the Potter’s House urban nonprofit organization in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Unruh is a graduate of the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism and English. She earned a Master of Arts in Journalism from the University of Arkansas.
