Angee Simmons Communications & Engagement Program Leader Angee Simmons is a communications and engagement program leader at the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, where she is responsible for ensuring that comprehensive, quality communications and marketing strategies, plans, and materials exist to support scaling of Real World Learning (RWL) experiences so that all students graduate with market-valued assets and skills. Prior to joining the Kauffman Foundation, Simmons was vice president of education and engagement for Kansas City Public Television (KCPT), where she led integrated marketing campaigns, wrote and produced a variety of media including long-form Emmy-award winning documentaries, wrote foundation and corporate grants, implemented project management and e-marketing solutions, and provided direction for all engagement and education initiatives across multiple platforms and formats. Previously at KCPT, Simmons worked as vice president of TV production & creative services, executive producer of digital media, and a producer/reporter. Simmons has served as a Girl Scout leader for 11 years and a mentor for student journalists. Simmons has a Bachelor of Arts in English and film with a concentration in education and women’s studies from the University of Notre Dame.
