Kristin Bechard Chief Financial Officer Kristin Bechard is the chief financial officer for the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation and serves as treasurer for the Kauffman Foundation Board of Trustees. She provides leadership, insight, and guidance to support the Foundation’s finance initiatives, as well as manages the Finance & Grants Administration, Technology, and Facilities teams. Prior to joining the Foundation, Bechard was a senior corporate tax specialist for American Century Investments, where she applied current tax updates and laws to pursue tax opportunities for the company, and represented the firm with federal and state tax authorities. She joined American Century in 2000 as an internal auditor. Previously, she served as a tax accountant with Arthur Andersen LLP in Kansas City, Missouri. Bechard received the Kansas City Business Journal’s CFO of the Year award in 2016 for the nonprofit sector. She is a member of Foundation Financial Officers Group. In addition, she serves as the treasurer and board member on the Kauffman School board. She earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and business administration, and a master’s degree in accounting and information systems, both from the University of Kansas. She is a licensed CPA and a member of the Missouri Society of CPAs.
