Entrepreneurs are doing amazing things in their communities across the nation, not only during Global Entrepreneurship Week, but year-round. Part of the role of people who support these makers, doers, and dreamers is to recognize the struggle, hustle, and courage they exhibit every day, and build a robust network to help them succeed.

Many educators and administrators cite the lack of parent engagement as a major contributor to underperforming schools and districts, but what causes this perceived lack of engagement is actually the disconnection between institutions of education and the families they serve.

Mayors worked alongside entrepreneurs at the fifth annual Mayors Conference on Entrepreneurship, hosted this year in Oakland, California, to find real solutions to common problems in communities nationwide.

Mr. Kauffman believed the investment he made in people was key to his success. And, he was deeply devoted to Kansas City. That’s why it was natural for the Kauffman Foundation to join so many others in the regional effort to create the Amazon HQ2 proposal.
